Crystal Lagoons’ project in the US, inspires proposal for new mega project in Orlando

13 April, 2015 / News

The major deal announced by Crystal Lagoons and Tavistock Development Company, to develop a 11-acre crystal clear recreational man-made lagoon, that will be the centerpiece of a new, luxury resort development within the 7,000-acre development of Lake Nona in Orlando, Florida, and which will be the largest planned Crystal Lagoons’ project in the U.S. to date, has recently raised the interest of other important developers in the US.

The Orlando local publication, Bungalower.com, has recently published a column proposing to build a new public mega-lagoon in Orlando with Crystal Lagoons’ technology.

The article highlights some of the most important features of the Crystal Lagoons’ projects in Lake Nona, also located in Orlando area: “The mega lagoon is designed by Miami-based firm, Crystal Lagoons that specializes in building gargantuan crystal clear lagoons. The water is kept clean using space age technology that uses less chemicals than in an ordinary swimming pool and less water than a typical golf course”.

These massive lagoons create large-scale, Caribbean-style beachfront recreational locations anywhere, ideal for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and sailing in a safe and fun environment.

These new lagoons are making their U.S. debut via new projects throughout Florida, plus more in the works in other states. The first lagoon was built 17 years ago in Chile and still holds the Guinness World Record as the largest swimming pool in the world, at 20 acres in size. The project successfully broke all real estate sales forecasts many times over, which is why developers worldwide are seizing upon this new trend.
