Oceania Director Germán Rocca spoke to the Forum’s plenary session, held in Melbourne 5 December 2016. The forum focused on the importance of collaboration between an organization like Crystal Lagoons and its governmental and non governmental stakeholders.

The aim of the Forum was to help identify opportunities to expand economic relationships, strengthen trade and investment ties, and explore ways Australia and Chile can work together to access new markets and increase participation in global value chains.

The Forum was organized by the Australian Government, through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, in collaboration with government and industry groups in both Chile and Australia.

Over the two days, Ministers, participants, technical specialists and industry leaders focused on sectors of strategic mutual interest, including Mining and Resources, Infrastructure, Education, Leadership, Trade and Business Platforms.

Guest speakers included Governor – General of Australia His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove, Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism & Investment,  Steven Ciobo MP,  Special Envoy for Asia-Pacific & former President of Chile, Eduardo Frei, Chilean Minister for Mining, Aurora Williams, and the Ambassador of Chile to Australia, Daniel Carvallo.
