4 July, 2022 / News

The Croatian website Punkufer included several crystalline lagoons around the world in the ranking of the largest lagoons for the perfect holidays. The selection highlights emblematic projects developed with Crystal Lagoons® sustainable technology, patented in 190 countries: Citystars Sharm El Sheikh, in Egypt; San Alfonso del Mar, in Chile.; Lago Mar, in US and Santa Rosalía, in Spain.

Punkufer highlights the amenity as a magical oasis of turquoise water and white sand, which can be enjoyed anywhere in the world. This technology allows crystalline lagoons of unlimited sizes to be built and maintained at very low costs globally by having low water consumption and using a minimum amount of additives and energy.

It heads the Citystars Sharm El Sheikh ranking, in Egypt, a project that since 2015 has held the Guinness Record for being the largest crystalline lagoon in the world. This amenity with turquoise waters has 12.5 hectares, is located in the Sinai desert and surrounded by idyllic white sand beaches, offering a wide variety of alternatives for recreation in a safe and controlled environment such as swimming and practicing water sports, such as sailing in the kayak.

Sharm El Sheikh is the second Guinness World Record for Crystal Lagoons. The first was obtained by San Alfonso del Mar in 2007, with the lagoon of 8 hectares and 1 kilometer in length, marking a milestone for the multinational water innovation company.

The Lago Mar lagoon spans more than a quarter-mile from end to end and has more than a mile of shoreline, making it the largest Crystal Lagoons amenity in the U.S. in terms of length and water shoreline. Lago Mar is nearly six times larger than the first Crystal Lagoons amenity developed together with Land Tejas, known as Balmoral, located in Humble.

Is a Public Access Lagoons™ project, also known as PAL™ developments and anyone can access the lagoon after paying a ticket and they’ll be able to enjoy multiple activities in the crystalline waters offered in their 12-acre pure turquoise lagoon.

Santa Rosalía Lake and Life Resort is the biggest development of Crystal Lagoons in Europe and is about to open. Located in the Costa Cálida sector, in Murcia, Spain, in an area that has more than 300 days of sunshine a year, it is defined as the center of the Caribbean Sea.

Developed with the sustainable technology of Crystal Lagoons®, the lagoon with 1.6 hectares of turquoise waters is inserted in a “Reserve” near Murcia and Cartagena, an immense 12.4-hectare garden, which in turn is located between golf courses. Around it, exclusive homes and apartments with a view of the largest crystal clear lagoon.
