PAL® Model Makes an Impact at the World’s Leading Entertainment Fair
9 December, 2024 / NewsThe entertainment industry is undergoing an unprecedented transformation thanks to the revolutionary Crystal Lagoons PAL® model, redefining the concept of urban recreation. These Public Access Lagoons® projects bring the tropical beach lifestyle to cities and unexpected environments, offering a unique experience. Additionally, they provide spaces designed to host large-scale mass events with unmatched scenic beauty, becoming ideal destinations for concerts, exhibitions, weddings, and more.
The impact of PAL® developments was evident at IAAPA Water Park Week, the most important global entertainment industry fair organized by the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA). At this event, which brought together over a thousand exhibitors from 100 countries, PAL® complexes were recognized as one of the most disruptive trends, standing out as the future of tourist and recreational destinations, water parks, shopping centers, hotels, resorts, and more.
“The success of the PAL® developments at IAAPA reaffirms the value of these lagoons in transforming amusement parks, malls, and other tourist destinations. By generating a constant flow of visitors, these developments significantly increase the profitability of the locations where they are implemented,” says Iván Manzur, Senior Vice President of Sales at Crystal Lagoons.
A notable example of the impact of this model is the Evermore Orlando Resort, steps from Disney World and Universal Studios. Awarded the Best of Meetings Today Awards 2024, this recognition highlights its ability to transform the entertainment landscape in Orlando, Florida, establishing itself as a global benchmark for event destinations. With its monumental crystalline lagoon of turquoise waters surrounded by white sandy beaches, Evermore was also chosen as the venue for the annual IAAPA directors’ dinner, further reaffirming its prestige in the industry.
In addition to their contribution to entertainment, PAL® projects are recognized for their eco-friendly approach. An average one-hectare lagoon consumes 40% less water than a park or green area of the same size, 33 times less water than an 18-hole golf course, and can use any water. Crystal Lagoons® amenities consume only 2% of the energy required by conventional pool filtration systems and use up to 100 times less chemicals than a traditional swimming pool.
Crystal Lagoons continues to push the boundaries of innovation by developing new high-impact technologies. The company opened a new area of innovation focused on enabling sustainable cooling for data centers while climate-controlling monumental crystalline lagoons. These lagoons will feature conventional beach zones and heated areas, reaching temperatures of up to 35°C, ensuring their use year-round, even on the coldest nights.
