Monarch Bay is the first complex that Crystal Lagoons will develop in Guyana as part of the master agreement it signed with Grupo Monarch to build Public Access Lagoons™ projects, also known as PAL™ developments, in Guyana and Suriname.

The centerpiece of the resort will be a crystalline lagoon suitable for swimming and water sports, surrounded by white sandy beaches. With these projects, Grupo Monarch aims to set a new standard of luxury living in the region and redefine the local real estate landscape, offering residents and visitors an unparalleled beachfront experience.

“We are thrilled to announce our exclusive partnership with Crystal Lagoons, a world-class technology company renowned for its visionary approach to creating stunning waterfront environments. This collaboration marks a significant milestone for both our companies and represents a commitment to bringing transformative developments to Guyana’s heart,” explains Clairmont Cummings, CEO at Monarch Group.

The operator’s interest lies in the real estate, economic, and tourist development opportunities generated by these crystalline lagoons, which revolutionize urban living with idyllic beaches in the midst of cities. Recognizing the success of Crystal Lagoons in various countries around the world, Grupo Monarch decided to diversify its investments by entering the real estate market.

“The entry of Crystal Lagoons into Guyana and Suriname demonstrates the added value of this amenity as a generator of urban development hubs. These PAL™ complexes will allow anyone to access the crystalline lagoon and white sandy beaches through the purchase of a ticket, providing a tropical paradise experience in the middle of the city,” explains Miguel Ángel Cabañas, Regional Director of Crystal Lagoons for Latin America and the Caribbean.

In the case of Guyana, the operation also responds to a growing economy with a GDP increase of over 60% due to recent discoveries in the oil industry.
