The German institute Fraunhofer highlights Fernando Fischmann’s appointment as director.

Chilean scientific and innovator Fernando Fischmann’s appointment as director of the German society Fraunhofer, organization recognized as one of the most prestigious scientific institutions in Europe and the world, was highlighted by the entity which expresses its satisfaction for having Crystal Lagoons’ founder as part of its directive structure.
“It is an honor for Fraunhofer Chile Research to have the participation of this renowned Chilean scientist on our board of Directors. We are sure that with his support we will be able to continue working in the research and development of different innovations that will allow us to improve the competitiveness of the Chilean industry”, said Wolfgang Schuch, Executive Director of Fraunhofer Chile Research.
Fraunhofer-Gesselschaft has 67 institutes and research units in Germany, and about 23 thousand employees in Europe, The Americas, Australia and Asia and it is linked to 18 Nobel Prices through its different scientific cooperation networks.
This is a renowned scientific-business cluster with multiple research topics such as digital music, with the invention of MP3, biochemical innovations, energy, biotechnology, aquiculture, renewable resources, agriculture, and information technologies, among others.
This important scientific nomination received by the local biochemist adds to previous honors that make him the only Chilean who has obtained in the three following awards in Chile: Innovator, entrepreneur and businessman of the year.
