Two of the most important media in Europe, The Financial Times (UK) and Süddeutsche Zeitung (Germany), recognized Fernando Fischmann’s story as innovation icon.

Both publications highlight the innovator’s dream and the challenges he had to overcome when developing the real estate mega project – San Alfonso del Mar-, which faced a critical problem: a beach that was dangerous and not suitable for swimming and that was going to compete against other complexes that were already in development in close coastal areas.

Both, The Financial Times and Süddeutsche Zeitung positively value Fernando Fischmann’s tenacity, since although many international experts told him that the technology he wanted did not exist and that is was barely impossible to do something as what he wanted, using his biochemist knowledge and after a process that lasted seven years of studies and tests, he finally achieved his goal. Fernando Fischmann developed a very efficient technology that uses up to 100 times less chemical products than traditional pool and fresh water disinfection systems, and just 2% of the energy that other swimming pool filtration systems require.

The two publications underline that Fernando Fischmann’s case is one of the ones that has allowed Chile to overcome the country’s lack of entrepreneurship and has also served as an example worldwide, because today Crystal Lagoons’ innovation has a thick folder with 300 urban, tourism, public and industrial projects at different development stages all over the world. The company partners with the main international real estate developers, with presence at the 5 continents, in 60 countries, such as The U.S., India, Egypt, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Jordan, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay, Chile, among others.

In addition, the technology developed by Fernando Fischmann is patented in 160 countries and what used to be just a dream, today is a global business.
