The covid-19 pandemic has changed purchasing habits and has obliged companies to reinvent themselves by implementing, for example, virtual sales channels. A successful example of this is a Crystal Lagoons® project in Texas, Windsong Ranch, which has seen a spike in sales, despite dropping numbers of prospective clients visiting the project due to the pandemic.

These positive results are due to the fact that the project’s website offers a series of virtual tours, both of the residences, neighborhoods and community amenities, with the virtual visit to the lagoon powered by Crystal Lagoons technology being the online tour attracting the most attention. According to figures provided by the developer, Windsong Ranch tours generated a 108% increase in web traffic during April, averaging over 650 daily visits.

The development in Texas has not only seen healthy sales figures, but has also been recognized on several occasions by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). However, Crystal Lagoons sales success in the U.S. began with its first project, known as Epperson, in Florida.

Epperson, the nation’s first development anchored by a pure turquoise water lagoon, experienced overwhelming commercial success from the early sales stage. This experience led the developer, Metro Development Group, to later close nine additional projects with Crystal Lagoons in less than two years.

Having opened its door, the Epperson project opened up to non-residents, as demand for beach life soared. This saw people flocked to Crystal Lagoons white sand beaches. The turnout has been so remarkable that the development has frequently been obliged to close its doors to control the flow of visitors.

A similar situation occurred at Balmoral, in Texas. The project broke sales growth records, with an increase of 345%, according to the study “Amenities and Broad-Based Demand Drove Top 50 Masterplans’ Sales”, carried out by the renowned real estate consultancy firm, John Burns Real Estate Consulting.

This strong increase in sales was based, according to the project developer, Land Tejas Development, on its attractive proposal that incorporates a crystalline lagoon as an anchor. As a consequence, the company is currently planning three other complexes with lagoons surrounded by idyllic beaches which will be spotted around Texas.

Additionally, Lake Nona (Orlando), Balmoral and Lago Mar (Texas) were also listed as Top-Selling Master-Planned Communities, a ranking conducted annually by the prestigious consultancy firm RCLCO.

Specifically, Lake Nona has established itself as one of the best-selling projects in the U.S. and has generated great interest from investors, precisely because of its 4.5-hectare crystalline lagoon.

Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size clear water lagoons at very low costs.
