Carlos Salas, Crystal Lagoons’ Regional Director for the Middle East, recently visited Cairo for the country’s leading international property exhibition, Cityscape Egypt.

During the three-day event, Crystal Lagoons signed a contract with real estate development company, TatweerMisr, to develop the first man-made lagoons in the Sokhna mountains. This is Crystal Lagoons sixth project signed in Egypt in the last 10 months and takes the tally of Middle East projects to 40 in different stages of development.

The US$250 million development will bring six stunning lagoons spanning a total area of four hectares (40,000 square metres) plus three kilometres of sandy beaches to the landscape, and will provide future IL Monte Galala-Sokhna residents and visitors stunning views of both the mountains and the crystal clear waters, as well as access to a range of leisure activities and watersports.

“This will be mark the first man-made lagoon project in the mountain area to date. It is a phenomenal undertaking and one that we are eager to get off the ground as soon as possible, and highlighting Crystal Lagoons’ ability to bring a body of water to any landscape, be it desert, the centre of major cities, or mountainous regions,” said Salas.

Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size crystal clear lagoons at very low costs.
