Crystal Lagoons is the Amenity N°1 of the Baia Kristal project25 April, 2022 / News
Baia Kristal, developed in the tourist city par excellence of Colombia, Cartagena de Indias, has positioned itself as the #1 project in sales in that country since its launch. Its design and its main amenity, the crystalline lagoon, have made it an iconic real estate investment in Colombia and the Caribbean. This is confirmed by the media outlet W Radio, which defined this large 3.2-hectare lagoon as a “paradise of crystal clear waters and white sands”.
“Baia Kristal’s unprecedented business opportunities wereplanned to be sold within three years, but ended up being sold in less than 12 months. This demonstrates that, contrary to what you might think, these crystal-clear lagoons can be successful anywhere in the world, in tourist spots as well as in coastal cities. This is what led AED Constructores to extend its partnership with Crystal Lagoons to develop 13 more lagoons,” said Jean Pierre Juanchich, Crystal Lagoons’ Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Growth in Colombia
Crystal Lagoons will build 13 of its turquoise water lagoons in two of Colombia’s most important tourist destinations, the coffee growing region known as the Eje Cafetero and the Colombian Caribbean. The company is already working on 197 such complexes which are at different stages of development in Latin America.
This mega-contract with AED Constructores will cover Barranquilla, Santa Marta, Pereira and Cartagena de Indias, one of the most important port cities in the World.
The first development will be a 200-hectare megaproject in Cartagena. The complex will host the first Public Access Lagoons™ development, also known as PAL™ projects, in Colombia and nine private real estate projects each with a 3-hectare navigable artificial lagoon.
Unlike private lagoons projects, the PAL™ developments are open to the public for a fee, allowing anyone access to this idyllic beach experience. Additionally, around the lagoon, there are commercial facilities for holding conventions, product launches, food halls, weddings, hotels, shops, restaurants, multiple stages for concerts, outdoor terraces, domes and amphitheaters.
“Colombia is a market with great potential for Crystal Lagoons due to its climate, population and other factors. These projects will change the lives of millions of Colombians by bringing a Caribbean-like experience to their doorsteps,” said Juanchich.
