Crystal Lagoons Has Developed Cutting-Edge Evaporation-Control Technology

5 August, 2016 / News

Nearly over one-billion tons of water is evaporated every day. Sustainability has always been a topic of paramount importance for Crystal Lagoons. Because of that, the multinational innovation company has developed a new film-based evaporation-control technology for its crystal-clear lagoons. The company’s cutting-edge technology lowers water-waste rates down in 70%. This way, Crystal Lagoons’ keeps reducing the amount of water needed for its lagoons to operate.

Exclusively manufactured in Canada for Crystal Lagoons, the technology consists of adding a special additive over water, spreading an invisible anti-evaporation layer on the surface of the lagoon. This additive can be used at different water temperatures and it can withstand wind and rain. It has been used in many crystal-clear lagoons throughout the world, lowering evaporation rates down in between 30% and 70% – 50% on average-.

Crystal Lagoons’ projects represent very low water consumption rates – half the water required by a park of the same size and up to 30 times less water required by a golf course –. The company’s new anti-evaporation film technology will further reduce water consumption rates.

Furthermore, these lagoons also collect rainwater. Therefore, in rainy areas the lagoons will require very little water for refilling, or even nothing at all. Crystal Lagoons’ additive has been certified by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) as suitable and harmless when applied to drinking water, thus proving its safety and effectiveness for recreational purposes.

Nowadays, Crystal Lagoons is focused on solving some of humankind’s greatest challenges, such as water and energy scarcity. The new evaporation-control tech represents another step forward in its mission, joining the list of innovations the company has already developed for the same purpose. Among them one can mention disrupting innovations such as Crystal Lagoons’ desalination technology that does not need extra energy, and which will help facing fresh water scarcity, one of the greatest humanitarian issues, affecting over a thousand million people worldwide.

It is worth mentioning that Crystal Lagoons has obtained patents in the U.S. for many of its technologies through the Green Fast Track Program. The latter hands over patents to technologies deemed of great ecological and environmental contribution to the world. Just one out of 1500 applications end up succeeding on this.

Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size crystal clear lagoons at very low costs.
