Crystal Lagoons Expands in Egypt With Eight New Projects
2 December, 2024 / NewsCrystal Lagoons is expanding in Egypt with eight new developments that will bring the country’s idyllic beach lifestyle to key areas. Five projects featuring eight lagoons are being developed with real estate developer Mountain View, including the iCity New Cairo residential complex in the capital. On the North Coast, second-home initiatives such as Caesar Bay, Azha North Lagoon, and Q North are progressing with Sodic, Madaar Development, and Q Developments, further consolidating the company’s position in this strategic market.
With these new projects, the multinational water innovation company now totals 45 initiatives in various development and negotiation stages in Egypt, its main market in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The most unique projects in Egypt include Citystars Sharm El Sheikh and Azha Ain Sokhna, the largest lagoons in the country, measuring 11.3 ha. and 11.97 ha. respectively.
“Crystal Lagoons projects add significant value, enabling the development of second-line locations along the North Coast, the Red Sea, and even in cities like Cairo, transforming them into unique year-round destinations,” said Miguel Ángel Cabañas, regional director of Crystal Lagoons.
Additionally, the company is in advanced negotiations to develop Public Access Lagoons® projects, also known as PAL® complexes, accessible to all through ticketed entry. These complexes will revolutionize urban lifestyles in Egypt, bringing a tropical beach experience directly into cities and making coastal living more accessible to local communities. These crystalline lagoons also serve as ideal venues for large-scale events such as concerts, exhibitions, and fairs, offering unparalleled scenic beauty with their monumental crystalline lagoons with turquoise waters, which light up at night to create a magical atmosphere.
Crystal Lagoons reaffirms its commitment to innovation by developing disruptive technologies that positively impact people and urban environments while integrating high-impact sustainable solutions. As part of this vision, the company opened a new area of innovation focused on enabling sustainable cooling for data centers while climate-controlling monumental crystalline lagoons. These lagoons will feature conventional beach zones and heated areas, reaching temperatures of up to 35°C, ensuring their use year-round, even on the coldest nights.
