Crystal Lagoons Begins Construction of its First Project in Texas

Several US media have highlighted the beginning of construction of Balmoral, the first Crystal Lagoons´ project in Texas. Kevin Morgan, Crystal Lagoons U.S. Corp. Executive Vice President, participated in the groundbreaking ceremony some days ago.

According to the website Builder, when the crystal clear lagoon will open next year, it will bring a beach-focused lifestyle to the Houston-area Balmoral residential community.

For this project, Crystal Lagoons has partnered with the Houston-based developer Land Tejas, with which will also develop a second project in Houston, in an undisclosed location that will be announced in the coming months.

Balmoral is located in North East Houston and will feature a 2-acre crystal clear lagoon that will be the centerpiece of the project. Its opening is scheduled for the first half of 2018.

The crystal clear lagoon will feature a Kid’s Cove and two beaches — a Family Beach with cabanas and lounge chairs, and a Serenity Beach for adults. The lagoon also includes an infinity-edge pool overlooking the lagoon, a food truck courtyard, hammock park, sand volleyball court, playground and splash pad. A 12-foot wide GreenBoLT trail system will enable residents to walk, bike or take electric golf carts and Segways to Balmoral amenities and points of interest.

“Texas is going to be our biggest market,” Morgan said. “It has a stable economy, large land opportunities and a growing population.”

Crystal clear lagoons use up to 100 times fewer chemical products and require just 2 per cent of the energy of conventional filtration technologies. They also consume half the fresh water of a park and up to 30 times less fresh water than a golf course.

Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size crystal clear lagoons at very low costs.
