The recognized Middle East-base news website “Emirates 24-7 news” has recently published a list of the 10 most amazing projects coming to Dubai. Crystal Lagoons’ project at Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum (MBR) City is at the top of the ranking, featuring what it will be the world’s largest crystal clear lagoon.

The publication also considered high profile projects such as the Museum of the Future and the Dubai Frame. All of them will be Dubai’s new sight places in the near future.

The project called “Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City – District One” is a development being built by the multinational company of innovation, Crystal Lagoons, in partnership with the prestigious real estate firm Meydan Sobha.

The pilot lagoon which has now been flooded after preparatory work was completed covers a surface area of 1.4 hectares with a depth of 2.45 metres and a perimeter length of 578 metres.

Once fully complete through a series of interconnecting lagoons, it will form the world’s largest manmade lagoon, covering 40 hectares, almost four-times bigger than the world’s largest existing lagoon.

The lagoon is also complemented by a sandy beach, 237 metres in length and a boardwalk that surrounds the lagoon. The perimeter is decorated by lush, green landscaping which gives the impression of an oasis setting. The new lagoon will offer unlimited space for swimming, water sports and other aquatic non motorised leisure activities.

Crystal Lagoons Corp. is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size crystal clear lagoons at very low costs.
