18 June, 2015 / News

The renowned Middle East based publication, Arab Water World Magazine, has recently published an article devoted to Crystal Lagoons’ project in Dubai underlining that it will become the world’s largest lagoon.

The magazine reports that the innovation multinational company Crystal Lagoons Corp, patented technology developer of limitless-size crystal clear lagoons has completed stage one of its navigable lagoon in the upscale Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City – District One residential community, in Dubai.

The pilot lagoon which has now been flooded after preparatory work was completed covers a surface area of 1.4 hectares with a depth of 2.45 meters and a perimeter length of 578 meters.

Once fully complete through a series of interconnecting lagoons, it will form the world’s largest manmade lagoon, covering 40 hectares, almost four-times bigger than the world’s largest existing lagoon. The lagoon is also complemented by a sandy beach, 237 meters in length and a boardwalk that surrounds the lagoon.

The perimeter is decorated by lush, green landscaping which gives the impression of an oasis setting. The new lagoon will offer unlimited space for swimming, water sports and other aquatic non-motorized leisure activities. It is through the use of that technology that Crystal Lagoons’ designs are exceptionally sustainable.

They use up to 100 times less chemicals than conventional swimming pools and consume up to 2 percent of the energy needed by standard filtration systems. In addition Crystal Lagoons use up to ten times less water than irrigating an 18-hole golf course and it can operate in any type of water, whether salt, fresh or brackish.

Crystal Lagoons Corp. is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size crystal clear lagoons at very low costs.
