American media praises Crystal Lagoons expansion across the U.S. with new projects for Florida

20 November, 2015 / News

The renowned American financial publication Business Journal has reported once again reported on Crystal Lagoons’ fast-growing expansion throughout the U.S., announcing new projects for Florida.

More crystal-clear, bright-blue water lagoons are coming to Central Florida. Crystal Lagoons US Corp., a Miami-based technology firm that specializes in building and maintaining lagoons, has signed a deal with Blue Development Group to bring a 5-acre lagoon to a residential community in Kissimmee.

The Kissimmee community does not yet have a name, but will have 394 units. Blue Development bought an existing 160 units at 9130 Calypso Court in Kissimmee, and plans to build 234 new units. The lagoon will be at the center of the community, which also will feature public beaches, a pedestrian promenade, a beach house, a light house, a marina and, possibly, a hotel component, Crystal Lagoons CEO Uri Man told Orlando Business Journal.

Construction of the new community and the lagoon is slated to begin in 2016, he said. Man hinted last month that a second lagoon may be on tap for the Orlando area, as previously reported by OBJ.

These amenities, as well as the community’s proximity to Central Florida’s tourism corridor, can attract new residents to Kissimmee who will help support the economy through the purchase of local goods and services. Additionally, this project will create hundreds of temporary construction jobs for the community.

This is the second Central Florida deal for Crystal Lagoons. Earlier this year, the firm signed a deal with Tavistock Development Co. LLC to build an 11-acre lagoon at a new resort planned near Lake Nona’s U.S. Tennis Association National Campus in southeast Orlando.

Additionally, Man said his firm is exploring two other opportunities for new lagoons in the Orlando market. Both opportunities are with active-adult communities, one of which already exists and the other a new development. Man declined to comment any further on these two projects.

Crystal Lagoons Corp. is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size crystal clear lagoons at very low costs.
