Amenity by Crystal Lagoons® to Anchor $1B Mixed-Use Development in Leander, Texas

A pure, turquoise lagoon spanning 4 acres and tropical beaches are in the pipeline for Leander, Texas. As part of a potentially US$ 1 billion project, Leander city officials announced a 78-acre planned development, known as Leander Springs, is to be anchored by a crystalline lagoon powered by Crystal Lagoons U.S. Corp.® technology.

The Miami-based multinational water innovation firm already has other operational lagoons spotted across the United Sates, with Texas and Florida as leading markets. Operational amenities in Texas include as Windsong Ranch, Balmoral and Lago Mar, while in Florida, Epperson Public Access Lagoon™ has seen relentless popularity. All have been tremendously successful, with each project seeing price in homes increasing once the lagoons were inaugurated.

Although still in early stages, design plans indicate the lagoon will be surrounded by a hotel and conference center, and up to 1,600 multifamily units.

“This dynamic mixed-use development is a game changer for our community. Leander Springs has a phased approach that will bring in much needed commercial development at the beginning of the project while incorporating residential uses in a proportional manner,” Leander Mayor Troy Hill said in a statement.

10 acres of boardwalk will surround the Leander Springs lagoon, which will function as Public Access Lagoon, also known as PAL™. A business model created and patented by Crystal Lagoons, this will allow the general public to access the lagoon via ticketed-entry. Residents will receive discounts on general admission prices, and enjoy private-access points to beaches reserved exclusively for property residents and hotel guests. Residents will have water sports, in a safe environment, on their doorsteps.

Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size clear water lagoons at very low costs.
