4 October, 2024 / News

Crystal Lagoons has again been recognized at the prestigious International Property Awards, which celebrate excellence in real estate projects worldwide across various areas such as design, innovation, and sustainability. In the 2024 edition, the award was given to the new Lagoon Park Bucharest project, a development that has transformed the urban landscape of Romania’s capital by offering a unique idyllic beach lifestyle and entertainment experience in the heart of the city.

The recognition was awarded in the “Leisure Development” category, where this PAL® development stood out for its monumental crystalline lagoon and its ability to redefine the region’s leisure offerings, bringing a tropical lifestyle to the heart of Europe. Crystal Lagoons® technology has enabled the creation of an environment where both residents and visitors can enjoy unmatched water sports and recreational spaces.

This achievement adds to previous International Property Awards won by other Crystal Lagoons projects, including Munyaka in South Africa, Tilal Al Ghaf in Dubai, and Santa Rosalía in Spain, among many others.

Even before its opening, Lagoon Park Bucharest generated unprecedented interest in Romania. Ticket demand was so high that they sold out a week in advance, with lines of up to two hours reflecting the public’s eagerness to experience a Caribbean atmosphere in the heart of Bucharest. The monumental crystalline lagoon, suitable for swimming and water sports and accessible to all through ticketed entry, has become the main attraction of the complex. It is surrounded by 11,000 m² of white sandy beaches and a comprehensive entertainment offering that includes restaurants, a beach bar, terraces, event and sports areas, exhibition spaces, green areas, and other infrastructure typical of the PAL® model.

Lagoon Park Bucharest is part of the megaproject Central District Lagoon City, developed in partnership with Forty Management, an award-winning Romanian firm with which Crystal Lagoons is also undertaking projects in several European countries such as Italy, France, Spain, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Poland. The complex includes 5,000 m² of white sandy beaches, a 5-star Radisson hotel with 323 rooms and 400 luxury apartments for rent, 8,200 m² of class-A office space, retail areas, restaurants, cinemas, a sky bar, a spa, and other facilities, positioning Bucharest as a key destination for leisure and real estate innovation in Europe.
