Crystal Lagoons® will develop new project in Dubai with 7 hectares crystalline lagoon
28 May, 2018 / NewsConstruction Week, one of the main media outlets in the Middle East, highlighted the new flagship mixed-use community that Crystal Lagoons® will develop in the emirate of Dubai. The project, called Tilal Al Ghaf, will have a 7 hectares man-made lagoon powered by Crystal Lagoons® technology.
The project will be developed in partnership with Majid Al Futtaim, a Dubai-based holding company, that owns and operates shopping malls, retail, and leisure establishments in the Middle East and North Africa, with operations in 13 countries.
The man-made lagoon will feature 400 metres of sandy white beach and 1.5 kilometres of waterfront promenade. As well as swimming, the crystalline lagoon will offer a selection of active water sports, including kayaking and stand-up paddle-boarding.
Hawazen Esber, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim – Properties, said: “The swimmable Crystal Lagoon adds a new dimension to community living standards, giving residents and visitors a genuine resort lifestyle experience.”
Carlos Salas, Crystal Lagoons regional director Middle East and Asia, said: “This is an eco-friendly and sustainable technology, setting a new standard for public space and leisure.”
“We are able to transform any location into a beautiful beach paradise, and provide a unique amenity for the community to enjoy.”
Launched in April, the three million square metre Tilal Al Ghaf is a phased project that will include more than 6,500 freehold homes when complete by 2027, ranging from apartments, townhouses and bungalows, and villas.
Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size clear water lagoons at very low costs.
