Exponential Expansion of Crystal Lagoons: New Projects and Record Lagoon Fillings Worldwide in 2024

Through real estate developments and Public Access Lagoons® project, also known as PAL® developments, the multinational water innovation company continues transforming key and emerging markets.
Crystal Lagoons continues to set new precedents in the United States, its largest market with 275 projects in various stages of development and negotiation. In Texas, its star state, the company launches its first PAL® development in the Austin metropolitan area, Ascensions on Lake Travis, with Austin Real Estate Ventures. This crystalline lagoon will serve as the central attraction of a high-end resort, solidifying Crystal Lagoons impact in the hospitality industry. In Fort Myers, Florida, the Brightwater project prepares to open its doors, joining other developments in the state such as Mirada, Epperson, and Southshore Bay, in association with Metro Development Group. Similarly, the PAL® complex Angel Lagoon, which stands out near Houston, was developed with The Lagoon Development Company.
The expansion of the multinational in Latin America reflects the growing demand for PAL® complexes in the region. Colombia leads with seven new projects, including six complexes in Tolima, Cundinamarca, Valle del Cauca, and Meta. In Cartagena de Indias, the company introduces its PAL® model to Colombia’s retail sector with Kristal Malls, developed with AED and Arquitectura & Concreto. This project is the largest shopping center in the Caribbean and Colombia’s first Shopping Resort. In Paraguay, the Chacoí complex adds to the 18 projects in cities like San Bernardino and Hernandarias, while in Mexico, AVA Resort Cancun redefines luxury tourism just ten minutes from Cancun International Airport. In Argentina, the Acquavista project in Córdoba, the second-largest city in this country,advances its lagoon filling, fueling the growth of these developments in the Southern Cone.
Europe is also experiencing the transformative impact of Crystal Lagoons® technology, with developments underway in Spain, Italy, France, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, and Hungary. In Seville, Spain, the new PAL® project joins others with the Romanian firm Forty Management, such as Lagoon Park Bucharest in Romania, which sold out its entry passes ahead of its opening, underscoring the demand for crystalline lagoons.
Egypt is the Crystal Lagoons’ most dynamic market in the Middle East and North Africa, MENA, with over 45 projects. This year, the company announced eight new complexes, including five with Mountain View, incorporating eight lagoons across various parts of the country, including Cairo. Along the North Coast, announces developments with Sodic, Madaar Development, and Q Developments. Additionally, lagoon fillings were completed for Fouka Bay 2 and Azha-Ain Sokhna.
In Dubai, the lagoons for the Damac Central Hub projects and a new phase, Phase 38, of Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City – District One, are being filled. Once completed, this lagoon will cover 148 acres, making it the largest crystalline lagoon in the world. Progress is also underway in Pakistan with Ary Lagoon. This year, Guatemala and Cambodia joined as new markets for the multinational, with the El Rancho and Krong Oasis projects further expanding their global presence in emerging markets.
