5 September, 2025 / News
- The initial development surpassed all commercial expectations and was a huge success, as the six-month sales target was reached in just 10 days.
Crystal Lagoons continues its global expansion and has just entered a new market. This time, in El Salvador, where the company signed an agreement to develop six Public Access Lagoons®, also known as PAL®, and real estate projects that will be located in different cities across the country.
Featured Developer
The master agreement—a contract to develop multiple projects with exclusivity in a specific area—is in partnership with Urbania:
- One of the leading developers in Costa Rica
- Renowned for its leadership in sustainability and innovative design
- With this complex, it expands into El Salvador
- Crystal Lagoons already had a previous agreement to develop another six lagoons across Costa Rica.
First Project: A Commercial Success
The first complex, called Amanelli, exceeded all commercial expectations and achieved resounding success, as the six-month sales projection was reached in just 10 days. The project will be located on the shores of Lake Coatepeque, a volcanic lake considered one of El Salvador’s most iconic natural destinations, which was even nominated as one of the 7 Wonders of the World.
Lagoon, Beach, and More
This project will feature:
- Over 50 hectares of development
- A lagoon of more than 2 hectares powered by Crystal Lagoons® technology, suitable for swimming and water sports, will be its centerpiece
- White sand beaches recreating an idyllic seaside lifestyle
- Around the lagoon, there will be gastronomic centers, retail spaces, and entertainment venues
- Potential additional uses such as an event hall, weddings, and concerts
Amanelli is valued at over US$800 million, making it one of the most ambitious private housing investments in El Salvador’s recent history. The project will drive economic and tourism development in the country’s western region.
In Harmony with Nature
The complex includes:
- Three residential towers designed under the concept of Biophilia
- Architecture that integrates with nature, highlights the natural surroundings, and promotes the responsible use of space and amenities, all designed to enhance the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of residents
- More than 200,000 square meters of green areas and protected forest, enabling the reduction of over 1,600 tons of CO₂ per year
Sustainability
One of the features that makes Crystal Lagoons® technology unique —and which will be incorporated into the lagoon of this new project— is its sustainability, as these bodies of water:
- Are filled only once and operate in a closed circuit
- Can use any type of water: fresh, salt, or brackish water from underground desert aquifers that have no other use
- Use up to 100 times fewer chemicals than traditional swimming pools
- Consume only 2% of the energy required by conventional filtration technologies
- Use up to 33 times less water than an 18-hole golf course and up to 40 times less water than a park of the same size
