Vogue Names Crystal Lagoons® San Alfonso del Mar as “Must See” Destination
15 June, 2020 / NewsThe Taiwan edition of Vogue magazine has rated Crystal Lagoons® San Alfonso del Mar lagoon as a “must see” once current restrictions have been lifted. With summer fast approaching in the northern hemisphere, it is listed as one of the “most amazing” places to swim in, making it an ideal destination for water sports fanatics.
Located off the coast of Chile, in Algarrobo, the crystalline lagoon is 1,013 meters long spanning over a total of 20 acres, equivalent to 6,000 traditional pools, which granted it the Guinness World Record up until 2015, when it another of Crystal Lagoons amenities, in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt, was inaugurated. It has maintained this world record ever since.
San Alfonso del Mar, which was initially conceived as a second home development with a total of 400 units, became, after the implementation of Crystal Lagoons technology, a real estate success, reaching 1,400 units and doubling the original sales price.
The crystal-clear lagoon revolutionized the local landscape, not only by providing residents and visitors of San Alfonso del Mar with an attractive and safe area for aquatic activities, but also by offering spectacular views which in turn allowed for the development of other resort and relaxation-based businesses and facilities centered around the new sea-side resort lagoon. All of which transformed and revitalized the entire community of the area.
San Alfonso del Mar, the first project in the world to use this innovative technology, quickly became the “most successful second home resort in the southern hemisphere”.
Currently, Crystal Lagoons has a portfolio of more than 600 projects in different stages of operation, planning, design, and construction; including urban, tourism, public and industrial projects in 60 countries, in all five continents. Crystal Lagoons has outstanding developments in the United States, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Thailand, Indonesia, Jordan, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Spain, Australia, among other countries.
Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size clear water lagoons at very low costs.
