The international news website Yahoo! News has recently covered the advanced progress status of Crystal Lagoons’ project in Dubai, which when 100% finished will feature what will be the world’s largest crystal clear lagoon. It is expected that the project will inaugurated by mid-2016.

The project called “Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City – District One” is a development being built by the multinational company of innovation, Crystal Lagoons, in partnership with the prestigious real estate firm Meydan Sobha.

According to the progress status of the project, it is expected that the first residential villa of this luxurious mega-complex will be handover by mid 2016. The project has been a total sells success, with its first stage completely sold out, and the second one on the verge of it.

The pilot lagoon which has now been flooded after preparatory work was completed covers a surface area of 1.4 hectares with a depth of 2.45 metres and a perimeter length of 578 metres.

Once fully complete through a series of interconnecting lagoons, it will form the world’s largest manmade lagoon, covering 40 hectares, almost four-times bigger than the world’s largest existing lagoon.

The lagoon is also complemented by a sandy beach, 237 metres in length and a boardwalk that surrounds the lagoon. The perimeter is decorated by lush, green landscaping which gives the impression of an oasis setting. The new lagoon will offer unlimited space for swimming, water sports and other aquatic non motorised leisure activities.

Crystal Lagoons Corp. is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size crystal clear lagoons at very low costs.
