San Alfonso del mar, Crystal Lagoons’ iconic project that became Chile’s most successful development of its kind and that represents a new real estate concept of global impact keeps being highlighted on then international press.

The site Earth Porm devotes a large article to the Guiness World Record biggest crystalline lagoon. According to the website, during the hot months of summer many people spend plenty of their free time soaking up the sun while by the pool. But your local or backyard swimming pool likely pales in comparison to this enormous swimming spot.

If you’ve ever felt like your own pool is just too small, you may want to take a look at this giant man-made body of water.

San Alfonso del Mar, a private resort in Algarrobo Chile, just about 62 miles (100 kilometers) west of country capital Santiago, is home to the largest swimming pool in the world.

Unsurprisingly, the pool attracts a considerable amount of tourist, all wanting to spend some time in and on its vivid blue waters. Covering about 20 acres in total, the pool is 3,323 feet (1,013 meters) long, just over 0.6 miles. Longer than 20 Olympic sized swimming pools, it takes the term “swimming laps” to a whole new level.

At any given time the pool contains over 66,000,000 gallons of filtered seawater from the Pacific Ocean.
