Thai press reports on Crystal lagoons’ most recent green business award

19 May, 2017 / News

Crystal Lagoons is honored by the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce in the 2017 “Green Means Green” Awards. Crystal Lagoons has won the “Green Gadget Award” which recognizes an organization that has created a new product that advances an environmental issue and exhibits a “green conscious” design.

Created to honor those organizations that are relentless in their efforts towards attaining a sustainable future, the “Green Means Green” Awards will recognize four individuals and five companies during the awards reception.

As an outstanding sustainable technology, Crystal Lagoons has earned a patent protection from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Fast-Track Program for Green Technologies. The company’s crystal-clear lagoons use 30 times less water than a typical 18-hole golf course and 50 percent less water than a park of the same size. Furthermore, Crystal Lagoons’ technology uses just 2% of the energy employed by traditional filtration systems, and 100 times less chemical than conventional swimming pools. Moreover, Crystal-clear lagoons can use any type of water: fresh, salt, and even brackish. Thus, they can avoid using fresh water at all. This technology is truly sustainable and this is especially true in rain-intensive areas where the lagoons can be refilled with direct rainwater and because of this, virtually do not require make-up water to compensate for evaporation.

As a multinational water innovation company, Crystal Lagoons patented technology creates unlimited-sized, crystal-clear lagoons that bring a beachfront experience anywhere in the world at very low construction and maintenance costs. The crystal-clear lagoons allow for a fun and safe environment to practice water sports, such as swimming, sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking and more.

Crystal Lagoons now joins the ranks of past “Green Means Green” Award recipients and finalists, including University of Miami, Hyatt Regency Coral Gables in Miami, Baptist Health South Florida, Florida Power & Light Company, Florida International University, Dream in Green, and more.

“We are excited to be recognized by the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce for this year’s Green Means Green Awards,” said Christopher Souza, Regional Director Crystal Lagoons U.S. East. “Crystal Lagoons is a leader in innovation and sustainable technology, and our Research & Development efforts continue to focus on solving global humanitarian challenges related to the scarcity of water and energy, aiming to increase efficiency of different processes and water treatment methods.  Since opening our U.S. headquarters right here in Coral Gables, we have received the “Keys to the City” from Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado as well as the “Governor’s Award” from Florida Governor Rick Scott.  We look forward to bringing beautiful beach life through innovative water treatment technologies to places all over the world.”

Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size crystal clear lagoons at very low costs.
