Media Outlet Highlights Appointment of Crystal Lagoons’ Regional Director for the Middle East

Construction Week, one of the most important specialized media outlets in the Middle East, highlighted Carlos Salas appointment as Crystal Lagoons’ new Regional Director for the region. The magazine emphasized that the executive is in charge of the 40 projects in different stages of development that the innovation multinational already has in the Middle East for a total investment in excess of US$ 13 billion.

Based in Dubai, Salas has extensive experience in the region, where he headed the Economic Department of the Chilean Embassy in the United Arab Emirates and was Pro Chile’s trade representative for GCC countries.

The executive has a degree in Industrial Civil Engineering and an MBA from Universidad Católica and ample professional experience in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar. This experience allowed him to forge strong contacts with those countries governments and their private sector counterparts, so he has a profound knowledge on how to generate business in the Middle East and on how to relate with different cultures.

“Salas has a thorough understanding of the Middle East business environment as well as an extensive network of governmental and commercial contacts, which places him – and Crystal Lagoons – in prime position to take our existing projects forward and capitalize on new opportunities in the region,” said Uri Man, CEO of Crystal Lagoons US Corp.

Salas takes his new position in Crystal Lagoons with the goal of strengthening the multinational’s expansion in the Middle East, a region where the company already has projects such as Citystars Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt; two developments in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; another one in Jordan and the “Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum City – District One” complex in Dubai, that will boast the world’s largest crystalline lagoon (40 hectares).

Crystal Lagoons Corp. is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size crystal clear lagoons at very low costs.
