Owner of San Alfonso del Mar starts millionaire expansion

Fernando Fischmann’s entrepreneurship history is associated from early on to the real estate world and his passion: science. He has preserved a very low profile despite being, along with his sister, the proprietor of one of the country’s top resorts. And now he’ll take his lagoons to Argentina, Panama and, possibly, Dubai.

Last week an envelope arrived via DHL courier to the offices in San Alfonso del Mar. Inside it had a certificate from the English Guinness corporation that stated that the Vth Region resort had been included in the famed English record list for having the world’s largest swimming pool.

Fernando Fischmann’s entrepreneurship history links from early on the real estate world and his passion: science. Son of restaurant entrepreneur Isaac Fischmann, the first owner of the famous Chez Henry, Fernando graduated as a biochemist from the Universidad de Chile. While he did work for a time in the family business, his own entrepreneurship vein crystallized in 1980 with Inmobiliaria El Plomo, the society he founded –that his sister Myriam latter joined- and where he latter developed several land lots (for example, in La Dehesa he paved what today is the Los Trapenses road).

Crystal Lagoons Corp. is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, that has developed and patented technology that allows for the low-cost construction and maintenance of unlimited size bodies of water in crystal-clear condition.
