Crystal Lagoons Transforms Real Estate and Urban Development in Egypt with 45 Projects

28 October, 2024 / News

Egypt has emerged as a key market for Crystal Lagoons, where its monumental crystalline lagoons are revolutionizing real estate development. The Crystal Lagoons® technology has created a trend and established a pioneering model, turning these turquoise bodies of water, suitable for swimming and water sports, into the country’s main amenity.

So great is the preference for these crystalline lagoons that the multinational water innovation company is driving 45 projects in differents stages of development and negotiation, positioning Egypt as its most important market in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). In 2024, the company has secured eight new projects, notably an agreement with Mountain Viewto develop five complexes that will include eight lagoons to bring idyllic beach life to different areas of Egypt. The first, iCity New Cairo, will be residential and bring a tropical lifestyle to the capital, marking a milestone in integrating beach spaces in urban areas.

Crystal Lagoons spearheads new second-home projects on the country’s North Coast with developers such as Sodic, Madaar Development, and Q Developments. The complexes Caesar Bay, Azha North Lagoon, and Q North stand out as icons of this trend.

In addition, Crystal Lagoons is in advanced negotiations to develop Public Access Lagoons® projects, also known as PAL® complexes, accessible to all through ticketed entry, and are set to revolutionize city lifestyles and bring beach life to the doorsteps of Egyptian households.

Crystalline lagoons add value by enabling the development of second-line beach projects on the North Coast and the Red Sea as well as in Cairo, which can take advantage of the good climate the region enjoys all year round,” said Miguel Angel Cabañas, regional director of Crystal Lagoons.

In the heart of the Sinai Desert lies one of the company’s most iconic developments worldwide, Citystars Sharm El Sheikh. Along with Azha Ain Sokhna, it features the largest lagoons in the country, measuring 11.3 hectares and 11.97 hectares, respectively. These projects stand out as models of sustainability and quality of life.
