Crystal Lagoons Public Access Lagoons Transform Urban Settings

The multinational water innovation company, Crystal Lagoons®, has seen explosive growth since the beginnings, and is now considered a unicorn company. The firm, founded by Fernando Fischmann, is now focused on it’s new patented business model, known as Public Access Lagoons (PAL) that will revolutionize cities and concentrate 60% of the company’s contracts. They are to become the meeting spot of the 21^st Century in large cities around the globe.

The nation with the most projects under construction is the U.S., although the company also has PAL projects in Spain, Dubai, Italy, Senegal, Kenya, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, and Turkey.

Crystal Lagoons has patented technology in 190 countries, and has a portfolio of over 2.000 patents worldwide. One of the main distinguishing features that define PALs compared to other amenities, is that they are intended for mass use, and have a different usage than golf courses and public parks, which occupy large extensions of land, yet are used by only a few people.

The Middle East and Latin America are two of the main markets in which PALs are expanding, however, the U.S. market concentrates the most amount of projects, namely in Florida with its Epperson lagoon in Tampa, which was recently presented Award of Merit in the awards organized by Engineering News-Record (Sports/Entertainment category).

Other lagoons located within the state of Florida are Lake Nona in Orlando, Solé Mia in Bal Harbor, and Avenir in Palm Beach Gardens. Another important project is Jungle Island one of the most important entertainment parks in the US, currently under construction.
