Lago Mar of Crystal Lagoons® open to the public till September

Univision presented as one of the best panoramas for this summer, in the surrounding area of Houston, Texas, the Lagoon Fest event that takes place around the Crystal Lagoons® lagoon located in the Lago Mar project. Its 5 hectares of turquoise waters offer all kinds of swimming and recreation activities, water sports such as kayaking and paddleboarding, obstacle courses, water slides, bars and restaurants.

This Public Access Lagoons™ development, also known as PAL™ projects, is located within a large private residential project, but until September, it will be open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday and tickets can be bought from $20. The distinctive feature of the Lagoon Fest are the various open-air music concerts around the lagoon, where there are numerous stages for concerts and spaces for the public to enjoy the different shows. The sale of these musical shows can be included in the price of the ticket, while special places for groups, such as cabins or terraces, can be rented to enjoy the show.

Visitors receive a radio frequency identification bracelet, which is given to family groups, loaded with money and is the only means of payment accepted within the PAL™ project. They can be connected to a credit card, are personal and non-transferable and are delivered upon entry.

The Lago Mar lagoon measures more than half a kilometer from end to end and offers more than a kilometer and a half of shoreline, making it the largest Crystal Lagoons® in Texas and the US. In fact, the new lagoon it is almost six times bigger than the first lagoon of the multinational in that state, Balmoral. Both projects were developed also with Land Tejas.

Due to the pandemic, the lagoon management has taken strict measures, requiring that both visitors and staff follow state health protocols, including the use of facemasks and social distancing, in addition to reducing admissions to less than 30% of the total capacity. The Lago Mar administration is also implementing “lagoon breaks” to disinfect and sanitize the bathroom areas.

PAL Business Model

The next construction phases will include hotels, condominium buildings, shops, restaurants and more, turning the amenity into a Public Access Lagoons™ developments, also known as PAL™ projects.

The project also includes an open area in front of the beach for corporate events, weddings and concerts.

The PAL™ business model will include a beach club that the general public will be able to access upon payment of a ticket, along with the multiple white sand beaches, swimming pools, a two-story bar on the lagoon, a beach for children and floating games.

In addition, it will have a center for the practice of water sports such as kayaks, paddleboards and small sailboats.

Crystal Lagoons is an American innovation company founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, who has developed a patented technology that allows the construction and maintenance at low cost of artificial turquoise lagoons of unlimited size.
