Crystal Lagoons project in Bolivia moves forward to become the world’s second largest man made lagoon

11 June, 2018 / News

Multinational water-innovation company, Crystal Lagoons®, is making important progress in Playa Turquesa, a clear water lagoon project in Bolivia that when finished it will become the world’s seconds largest man made lagoon.

It is worth mentioning that the company has held the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest man made lagoon twice already.

The first time with San Alfonso del Mar, in Chile. Covering a total area of 7-hectare, the man made lagoon of the Chilean resort was the world’s largest one until 2015, when another Crystal Lagoons broke the record.

The company’s project in Egypt, called Citystars Sharm El Sheikh, has held the Guinness World Record ever since, with a 12-hectare man-made lagoon in the middle of the desert.

Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size clear water lagoons at very low costs.
