Crystal Lagoons May Be Part Of US$ 1 Billion Redevelopment Project in Texas Mall

8 May, 2019 / News

The Plano City Council has voted to grant final approval to bring Collin Creek Mall back from the dead. Retail stores and customers have been abandoning the mall for years now, but a one billion dollar plan has finally been approved for Centurion American Development Group to redevelop the space into a mixed-use project with housing, entertainment and offices. Although yet to be confirmed, multiple national and local media outlets have talked of initial redevelopment plans including a Crystal Lagoons® amenity.

Other potential amenities in the pipeline for the 100-acre redevelopment project include stores and entertainment venues, as well as a luxury hotel.

The 1.5-acre lagoon powered by Crystal Lagoons technology, should plans go through, will function as a Public Access Lagoons, which visitors can access via ticketed entry. The lagoon will be a meeting place for all members of the family and will be surrounded by restaurant patios.

There will also be 2,300 apartments, houses and senior living units, as well as 9 acres of parks and 1.6 miles of hiking trails. The anchor stores of the mall will be demolished and the renovated mall building will house boutiques and businesses geared around the new residential component, including a grocery store.

Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size clear water lagoons at very low costs.
