11 December, 2015 / News

The project under development by the innovation multinational Crystal Lagoons in partnership with a joint venture of Meydan Group –the real estate branch of the Dubai Government, linked to the monarchy – and Sobha, India’s most important real estate and construction firm, will have the world’s largest crystalline lagoon. The lagoon will have 40 hectares when finished by 2020.

The first of the The Mohammad Bin Rashid City – District One project units are due for a June 2016 handover schedule. There have been two sets of launches so far, entailing 600 properties. According to Mohammad Al Kheyat, Vice-President, Commercial and Free Zone at Meydan Group, the project is well on track to meet key deadlines.

The crystalline mega lagoon, that will set Crystal Lagoons’ third Guinness World Record, will be seven kilometers long and will be surrounded by white sand beaches and hiking and biking trails. The environs will have lush green landscaping, giving the impression of being in a true oasis.

The publication also stressed that the super luxurious real estate development, with an associated investment of US$7 billion, in addition to boasting the world’s largest crystalline lagoon, will set another five Guinness World Records with the world’s largest residential tower and indoor ski slope, the highest 360 observation deck, the highest restaurant and the planet’s largest water fountain.

The mega lagoon will also be surrounded by corporate towers, industrial parks, sport facilities, a public part larger than London’s Hyde Park, water parks , the “Meydan Mall” –the world’s largest-, over 100 hotels and 1500 new super luxury residential condominiums, with housing prices from US$ 7 million and US$ 12 million.

It’s not just a residential community we are building but a full-fledged destination in itself,” said Mohammad Al Kheyat, Vice-President, Commercial and Free Zone at Meydan Group. “Parts of the man-made beach [of 3.5 million square feet] too will be ready during the Phase 1 handover.” (District One’s waterbody — the Crystal Lagoons — will eventually cover 90 acres and create a 14-kilometre boardwalk that will surround it.) Future connectivity will also play into The Mohammad Bin Rashid City – District One’s attractions. The waterbody will connect the Business Bay tower cluster and extend all the way up to the Meydan Grandstand overlooking the venue for the world’s richest horse race.

Crystal Lagoons Corp. is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size crystal clear lagoons at very low costs.
