Crystal Lagoons Expands in Texas With New Turquoise Lagoon Developments

9 April, 2025 / News

Crystal Lagoons continues its strong growth in the U.S., with Texas leading the expansion thanks to high-impact projects that bring beach life to inland and urban locations. With several communities already operating and four new projects in development, the company is revolutionizing real estate and hospitality models across the state.

Established Projects Setting the Standard

●       Balmoral – Houston

Balmoral was home to Texas’ first turquoise lagoon, introducing the concept of resort-style living to Northeast Houston. This two-acre crystalline amenity is the centerpiece of a vibrant master-planned community where residents enjoy kayaking, paddleboarding, and relaxing on white-sand beaches.

●       Windsong Ranch – Dallas

Located just outside Dallas, Windsong Ranch features a five-acre turquoise lagoon that has become a model for suburban living. This amenity has boosted home demand and positioned the community as one of the most desirable in the region.

●       Lago Mar – Texas City

Lago Mar hosts the largest crystalline lagoon in Texas, covering 12 acres. It anchors a 2,000+ acre mixed-use development and includes multiple beaches, a beach club, and diverse entertainment options, offering a true staycation destination for families and visitors.

●       Angel Lagoon – Dayton

This Public Access Lagoon® project is just 40 minutes from Houston and provides a resort-style experience to the general public. Angel Lagoon features floating obstacle courses, dining venues, and white sand beaches, making it a family-friendly entertainment hub.

What’s Coming: 4 New Projects Underway in Texas

●       Magnolia Lagoon – Greater Houston

This 1.5-acre turquoise lagoon, planned for the Magnolia area, will include a beach, paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing, and floating obstacle courses. Phase I begins construction in December 2024, and completion is expected in May 2026.

●       Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort – San Antonio

Crystal Lagoons has partnered with Hyatt and Woodbine Development to bring a two-acre turquoise lagoon to this luxury resort. It will elevate the guest experience and complement the property’s existing golf course, spa, and event spaces.

●       Two More Developments (TBA)

Additional residential and PAL® projects are being finalized, underscoring growing demand for lagoon-centered developments in Texas’ fastest-growing areas.

Why Texas Loves Lagoon Living

Crystal Lagoons has found success in Texas due to:

  • Rapid suburban population growth
  • Demand for family-focused, outdoor amenities
  • Developer interest in increasing property values

In addition, the technology’s sustainability — using up to 33 times less water than a golf course and 2% of a traditional pool’s consumption per square meter — aligns with Texas’ long-term resource management goals.

A New Way of Living in Texas

With each new turquoise lagoon, Crystal Lagoons® technology redefines what’s possible in urban, suburban, and resort settings. Texas is leading this transformation, and with four new developments on the way, the future of leisure, real estate, and hospitality is, truly, clear — or better yet, turquoise.
