Texans can enjoy Crystal Lagoons® amenity through September4 June, 2021 / News
Crystal Lagoons® largest crystalline lagoon in the United States, the amenity located in Lago Mar project in Texas City, opened its doors to the public last May 28. Click 2 Houston highlighted the lagoon, powered by state-of-the-art sustainable technology created by the Miami-based multinational water innovation firm.
The limited-time event, known as “Lagoonfest Texas”, is a pop-up beach club at the 12-acre pure turquoise lagoon. Access to the white sand beaches, crystalline water and a series of events and activities around the man-made lagoon will run through to September 7th.
The Lago Mar lagoon spans more than a quarter mile from end to end and has more than a mile of shoreline, making it the largest Crystal Lagoons amenity in the U.S. in terms of length and water shoreline. Lago Mar is nearly six times larger than the first Crystal Lagoons amenity developed together with Land Tejas, known as Balmoral, located in Humble.
Due to the pandemic, the lagoon is strictly enforcing that guests and staff follow state health protocols, including wearing masks and practicing social distancing, and has reduced admissions to under 30% of full capacity. Lago Mar’s administration is also implementing “lagoon breaks” to sanitize swim areas.
PAL business model
However, work on future phases continues, and the amenity will include hotels, condo buildings, retail, dining and more, so as to become a Public Access Lagoon™, also known as PAL™.
An event center with a beachfront event lawn for corporate events, weddings and concerts is also in the plans.
This PAL business model will grant nonresidents access via ticketed entry to a separate white sand beach, access to the lagoon while also providing a water sports facility including kayaks, paddleboards and small sailboats.
Crystal Lagoons is an international innovation company, founded by scientist Fernando Fischmann, which has developed a patent-protected technology that allows the construction and maintenance of unlimited-size clear water lagoons at very low costs.
