Crystal Lagoons Amenity in Florida Will Open to the Public

24 January, 2022 / News

The SouthShore Bay project in Wimauma, Florida, USA recently completed for its residents the construction of its large 2-hectare lagoon with Crystal Lagoons® technology. But now, the local authorities have given the green light so that anyone can enjoy the body of turquoise water by paying an entrance fee.

The lagoon is Metro Development’s Group’s second such amenity in the Tampa Bay region. The Epperson development in Wesley Chapel opened its crystalline lagoon, the first in the United States, in late 2018. Metro Development plans a third lagoon at its Mirada development in Pasco County and has several projects in different stages of development.

SouthShore Bay is created exclusively for adults over 55 who wish to maintain an active social life, with an exclusive sector and restricted access, while the rest of the lagoon will works under the Public Access Lagoons™ model, also known as PAL™ model, allowing those who do not reside in the development to enjoy it, upon payment of an entrance ticket.

In addition to the monumental lagoon with crystalline waters that will allow the practice of various water sports and the white sand beach, other amenities that the project integrates are restaurants, swim-up bars and entertainment areas, among others.

Southshore Bay is approved for nearly 3,000 homes on 680 acres. So far, 630 homes are built or under construction.

At Epperson, current cost for an adult day pass to nonresidents is $10, according to its website, but the price can be as high as $35 depending on seasonal demand.
