Crystal Lagoons’ amazing crystal clear lagoons grow in the U.S.

25 February, 2015 / News

Crystal Lagoons US, Corp. recently announced an agreement with Tavistock Development Company, a subsidiary of Tavistock Group, to build an 11-acre recreational, man-made lake within the 7,000-acre development of a new, luxury resort, Lake Nona in Orlando, Fla. This will be the largest of this type of artificial lagoon in the U.S. to date.

Central to the building of these bodies of water is the company’s innovative water treatment technology – resulting in up to 100 times fewer additives, and averaging only two percent of the energy required by traditional water filtration systems.

In rain-intensive states like Florida, these lagoons can be potentially refilled with direct rainwater and therefore require almost no make-up water to compensate for evaporation.

The first lagoon was built 17 years ago in Chile and still holds the Guinness World Record as the largest crystal clear lagoon in the world, at 20 acres in size. The project reportedly broke all real estate sales forecasts many times over.

The international technology company has its U.S. headquarters in Miami and offices throughout the world in Chile, Amsterdam and Dubai and boasts a portfolio of more than 300 projects in 60 countries worldwide.

The technology is patented in 160 countries. The Lake Nona project comes shortly after the company announced its first installation in the U.S. with four projects near Tampa in partnership with Metro Development Group slated for 2015, and more forthcoming announcements planned for Texas, Arizona, California, Nevada, and Hawaii.
